As a Jordanian myself, I grew up hearing my parents say (that’s putting it nicely... its more like ‘nag’) about taxes, inflation, politics… All that you can think of... they complained about.

Not once did they look around and say wallahi e7na 3aysheen in a safe and liberal country. A beautiful one in fact. We have religious freedom, political freedom, freedom of speech (to a certain extent!!), freedom of thought, intellectual freedom, and many more…

What you see below is a construction of what I believe to be freedom.

My only hope is that I am not misunderstood (again!!….) for the images of veiled women in Saudi arabia. What I aimed to do through this map of Jordan and surrounding countries is show the destruction, war, and demolition that is happening around us; in Palestine, Lebanon (thank god that’s over now), and Iraq. I won’t go in details into the oppression and subjection I think some Syrians and Saudi’s are living in… because we have some too…

Iwill however say that we are blessed to be living her and we shouldn’t lose it to appreciate it…
